Seek One’s dilemma

I've listened to a couple of their podcasts lately out of sheer curiosity and boredom. The podcasts ever so slightly changed my view of them. It gave me the feeling that they are much more similar to myself and many others on this forum than I thought. I think they've stuck themselves between a rock and a hard place where they want to do more traditional type hunting but that type of content isn't what pays their bills. Drew readily admitted on one of the pods that he has the elk bug and wasn't super concerned with deer anymore. Lee still strikes me as an Instagram fluffy kittens for lack of a better phrase.

All that being said if I was them I'd probably try and kill it. World class or not it's no different than all the others they've killed at this point. Idk why they'd all of a sudden be concerned about the public's perception of them for doing what they've done all along.

I don't know why y'all get so bent out of shape over these guys. It's comical. And about those guys not having jobs, they did have regular jobs. I think Lee was an insurance agent. Their early content was more to show that even if you live in a city, it's possible to hunt and be successful.
Lots of hunters live in the city but hunt deer in the country. Their "content" is only about glorifying themselves, just like every other yahoo with a Youtube channel.

Being a legal kill does not make it right. Ethics do include concern for the public image of the sport and its participants. As well the image of such a kill being purely for fame and profit. Seekone's approach stinks and feels slimy.
Absolutely. It dont have to be illegal to be wrong. Seekone needs to buy a big farm in the midwest and start hunting wild deer imo

I respect those that put in the work to kill world class whitetails. Rather it being intensive habitat work and herd management. Intense public land scouting, skills and time in stand. Super effective slick tactics to gain permission to hunt little Johnny's swing set to stick pet monsters in the name of overpopulation....

To each his own..

So what's the expanse limit to make a deer a rural or urban deer? 1acre, 20, 500? They hunt neighborhoods but I've also seen them hunt farms. Pre internet or social media did nobody hunt the way these guys do? I killed my first deer in between 2 neighborhoods. I guess it doesn't count because it wasn't eating out of a corn field or a food plot. Sorry but the entire hunting "industry" uses social media to promote product. Why do you think they want more hunters? I promise you it's not to save public land or make habitat better. It's so they can make more money selling products. If they kill a world record deer good for them. I could care less. I say more power to the guys. They're getting paid to do cool stuff like shoot deer and travel around doing it. Better than selling insurance or laying block for a living in my opinion. Take some of yourselves back to say age 20 and you and a few buddy's say hey I've got an idea, let's film hunts and get paid to do so by putting them on YouTube. I'm not gonna say no that's a bad idea, I'd rather sit in a freezing stand for days on end staring at an empty field waiting for a 110" 8 pt to walk by.

I like this post. Who cares what he does…..? You do you! Stay in your lane. That's what's wrong with a lot of this world today. People don't mind their own business.

Or, if you see hunting and its traditions going down the toilet, you stand up and call out the bullshyt you see going on.

Pretty obvious you are in the grip and grin crowd.
