Self-imposed limit?

I've only killed my limit one time and I was hunting multiple counties that year. Not interested in that much driving anymore.

I took a different approach than most with the turkeys that are close to me. I've lived here all my life and 20 years ago there was no turkeys here. Had some about 4 or 5 miles away though. As they started to move in I'd kill no more than one per year and that would be a Jake if possible. Even now I still prefer to shoot Jakes

Now I see groups of 30 plus

Exactly what the 80 yr old fella I take every year says when i tell him i passed on a jake.

He just shakes his head and says, "I'd rather kill a jake. Better eatin'!"
