Much of gave up. Sometimes you have to accept that.
Yeah I wanna know too. And hey no shame if the update is that you did not find him. That has happened to anyone who has hunted for a few years. It sucks but there's no judgment.

Yup it can happen to anyone, happened to me on the biggest deer I have ever seen in the woods, never found drop of blood on what I thought was a great shot

I shot a buck with a bow in Illinois several years back. Hit him right behind the shoulder slightly quartering away. He ran about 40 yards and laid down. He tried to hold his up and couldn't finally laid his head down. It got dark I climbed down and buddy brought the truck and I went up to field dress him and he was gone. We found a little blood for another 75 yards and then nothing. Never found him

Hit him in shoulder an logged in the other . Found him about 50 yards on in a gully.
