A couple of handguns.... The Buckmark has a TacSol threaded barrel and top strap/rail/rear sight that's of steel construction. The original rear sight strap on these pistols is plastic. I've run countless rounds through it, it's my favorite suppressor host and VERY accurate.

The Heritage Rough Rider is one of 2 handguns that I won in a raffle several years ago. The other is a Taurus 9mm. Both are unfired.

1959 Winchester model 75 my dad had.
Ruger single six.
22 Smith & Wesson revolver my dad had.

Or how about the Belgian made Browning "take down autoloader" gun my dad got in Germany in the early 60's when we were stationed there and he gave it to me when we got back to the states. I believe I was about 15 years old. I am now 76.

My current "trapline/field" 22 - an ASTRA Star FM. With the open breach it's much easier to change/load one round in the chamber than a Ruger MK 1 I used to have in case I want to go from fast 22 HPs, to subsonic rounds or shotshells.

and an easily carriable "shoulderable case" that competely protects the gun and that I can draw from quickly.

If I was reduced to "one gun for survival" it would probably be the folding stainless steel 10/22. It is small enough to use the circular ring on the left side of the pistol grip to hang it on my belt with a carabiner almost like any sidearm. Pop out the folding stock and it shoots very accurately to 75 yards. Obviously you could carry a tremendous amount of ammo. It is very concealable under a long jacket with a shoulder sling. And I would hate to be any critter - animal or human - that got a 30 round clip emptied into it's face.

I try to not watch this thread, great bunch of 22 guns, I have always had a love of rimfire stuff, no show pieces but got some shooters. Pro tip, ammo either makes you or breaks you, shoot a box of your favorite in a semi auto, When I could hear better I could tell you all of the flyers by the sound, a bolt action is more difficult for me to tell and not sure why. Maybe a longer barrel, if they ever make it where I can buy a suppressor, I will have 2 rifles and a pistol threaded.
