Anyone ever eaten it?

I went to a seminar this past weekend and some was served up, I must say I was quite surprised!!
It was pretty good, no "fishy" smell or taste and the texture to me was similar to mahi mahi, more of a "dense" meat and not flaky like crappie so to speak.
I will say it is not my every meal choice when it comes to fish but I wouldn't throw it out just because of what it was.
I recommend you trying it if you get the opportunity.

I have heard that from several people.
Went snagging one day and took a cooler and ice to gut and ice one down as soon as it came out of the water.
They spoil much faster than fish we normally deal with.
You guessed it didn't get a single one. Lol

One of the guys on our bowfishing team keeps a few sometimes and eats them. He says he likes them better than crappie and shellcracker. I've yet to try any though.

There is going to be an Asian Carp study on the KY portion of KY Lake this November. The study involves several agencies as well as commercial fisherman.

It's just AMAZING how many are in KY lake. Everywhere you look there are thousands.
