Slick Trick vs. Rage

Thats like compareing apples to oranges two differ types of heads..But I have only shot the slick tricks so I can't chim in on this one..

I have used the slick tricks for several years with great results. A friend of mine really likes the rage. I thought about giving them a try but they sure are expensive. Just curious if anyone has used them both.

On a side note, I am not very impressed with mechanical heads. I have never lost a deer with the slick tricks. I have lost a few with NAP mechanicals. That is why I switched to fixed heads in the first place.

My hand was cold so I hit it with a 2# ball peen hammer. It really hurt so I switched to wearing gloves. I wonder if hitting it with a 28oz framing hammer would work?

Don't fix what aint broke....

I haven't shot the slick tricks, but didn't have to track a deer more than 60 yards last year while shooting rage 2 blades. I'm a firm believer in what fishboy said, "if it ain't broke don't fix it." I haven't shot them at a target cause i'm only rich enough to own an old bag, but I went 5 for 6 with them last year and the one miss was due to bad distance judgement. My only complaint on the rage is they are a pain to change blades in. And of course the price, but the 10 bucks extra you pay for them is very much worth it in the field. Anyone considering the titaniums, don't waste your money. In my opinion, its just a marketing ploy.

I shot both heads and went back to Slick Tricks because of the durability and ease of purchasing replacement blades . I'm trying out some NAP Bloodrunner heads this year . They even come with an extra set of replacement blades.

I watch a lot of hunting videos where the guys shoot Rage, and it seems like there are a lot of deer running off with arrows sticking in them. The only times I recall NOT getting a complete pass-thru with Thunderheads, Slick Tricks, or G5 Strikers was when I spined the deer and it dropped in its tracks.

Do you Rage users notice a reduction in the number of pass-thrus?

Our group tried both, Rages fly well, we took several deer with them, but always seemed something was happening with them. O rings going bad, blades opening in the quiver.Never any pass thru's. Tricks will fly as well as rage, and are problem free, and do plenty of damage! For me,either tricks, or standard muzzys!

Look at the gaping 2"+ damage on this doe!

rage sucks

Would you care to expand on this thought. I'm shooting them for the first time this year. I've seen what they can do, but I must say this is one of the only negative reviews I've come across. So why do they suck?
