Lucked into a lonely late morning bird on Saturday. Actually hunted the same bird all morning off the roost. But he had no interest until 10am and I killed him around 11:45 am. My first Alabama bird. Heard 5 or 6 toms on the roost in all directions, none of them were close. This was the 2nd closest at 600-800 yard from my listening spot. He was within 100 yards of my final setup. He sure played games with me but finally came strutting into 25 yards. 3 miles from the truck.

Congrats on the bird! I've been hunting the same area you are in the last two weekends of March the past two springs. Those birds don't come easy! Good job.
