Smacked one

Congrats Cat!

Awesome video, and a nice shot :) !

BTW, in case you didn't realize it, with quality headphones and the volume up, you can hear him drumming at about the point where you first see him on camera. That's a great mic you're using.
thanks, I appreciate it. Yes I cranked the volume up on that so you can hear the drumming. Part of the reason I bought that microphone was so I could hear em drum.

Good video. Can hear them drum real well. Disagree on the young dumb two year old comment. No Alabama public land mountain birds are dumb, and in my experience you've killed one of the hardest game animals to kill at his own game, with a shotgun and a call.

With all that scratching you were around, I'm thinking the turkey you bumped was either a hen or maybe another silent gobbler. I wouldn't think it was the same one you shot.

Great job.

Just watched all the alabama videos. You definitely put in the effort. Great videos as usual. Pure hunting and outdoors. No infomercial like the tv guys.

Really enjoyed that hunt and video fine job catman!!! I laughed when you run back up there with the turkey and quick released that shotgun from the hip!!

Enjoyed the video. I listened hard for the drumming and think I heard it. That's cool. Your brave to hold that bird by the neck with his spurs free but I guess he wasn't going anywhere. I usually put my foot on his neck until they quit flopping but I'm not running video. Once again good job!

only way I've been spurred is grabbing a flopping bird by the feet, so I went for the choke hold [emoji1]

I watched the video! You did a great job of capturing the essence of the hunt. Also looked like a fun camp, bet there were a few fishing stories told :)

That's crazy the water got so high this spring it washed hay bales out of the private fields down the creek

Congrats!

I've never hunted public land in Al but I used to hunt a place out side Tuscaloosa. We would always be there opening weekend around the 15th and they were always gobbling like crazy. I can't remember not killing a bird or calling one in for someone else. It was one high ridge above a swamp and man it was loaded with turkeys.

Congrats there Grasshopper. Passed you in that red Mopar on my way back up Friday. Seen that weird Al looking kook as well in town. Had hunted since the opener South of the management area and had only heard one turkey gobble all week. Had to head home Friday to work some cows. Came back down Saturday night. Killed a fired up 2 year old at 10:35 Sunday morning on Duggar Mountain. Was on turkeys again Monday, but could not do anything with them. Hated to leave, but my 10 day tags were up. Hunted the Chattahoochee this morning and will hunt Thurs and Friday. Turkeys gobbling good on Cohutta. Been a hell of a season so far ;)

Man, you're running with some internet celebs, and are gathering quite a following!

I think Catman has more followers than most all of them except THP. He is rocking the Ol'Youtube!

That's awesome, man. Congrats! Is that wingbone the only call you carry?
thanks. It was on this trip, but usually I have a mouth call, pot call and/or tube call for backup.
