I have a young kid that I work with that is just getting in to archery this season. The problem is he has no confidence in his bow what so ever. It's an old bow I forget the name of it now. He shoots my bow just as good as I do but, can not shoot his very well at all. He is begging me to sell him mine and let me upgrade to a newer one.

I have no problem picking up a different bow and shootin consistently very quickly. My only problem is I will only have about $350 to spend right now.
I really hate to not make the deal with him being a new hunter but, I also don't want to let him go to the woods with no confidence and him end up making a bad bad decision and wounding an animal.

Do his bow fit him? Is the draw length the same as yours? Is his bow tuned or does it just have a rest slapped on it. How new is the string and cable on his bow? If they are old, they have probably stretched and the bow is out of tune. He may be able to do some work on the one he has now and get it shooting good. I wouldn't sell my bow this close to season. If he wanted another one he would have to buy it somewhere else.

I agree its to close to season to be changing bows, very kind of you though to be helping a young man out.

I understand what you guys are saying. I just wish I had a back up bow. I would just let him shoot mine and use my back up myself. I'm trying to make sure he has a good experience and continues in the sport.

Check the bow that you are letting him use and get it shooting good. Move the sights on your bow just a little. Get him to go practice and let him use your bow. Smoke him with the old bow and tell him that you might just hunt with the old bow and I bet he will want to swap back and he will have confidence in the old bow. :)

I dont know how much he wants to buy your bow for, but tell him to look at the PSE Stinger. $399 ready to hunt less arrows. It's a heck of alot of bow for the price.

you can get a brand new martin cheetah for 350 from cabelas. that includes shipping. put the rest and quiver on from your old bow.

rated at 310-320 IBO.
