Taggart to FSU

Care to elaborate on what is so appealing about him? I.e character, record, recruiting??
He will no doubt be an excellent recruiter because he is young, from the area, and can relate to the players in lots of ways, some not so good ways might I add.
Do you only care if he can win, or does who a coach is as a person matter to you?

none taken. I'm just a guy on the internet.
That would be one way.
Or read the sporting news and see what his ex players have to say. Or what he allegedly has done to players. Or even the recruits he talked into coming to Oregon.
I could go on to no ones advantage.
I know the man personally very well. (Now everyone was young and dumb before) I guess you'd just have to take my word for it. According to several people that are still in contact with him, not much has changed.
Wonder if he still has my grandpas old revolver?

No kidding tho, he is a good football coach I guess. He took wku to a national championship my first year there. I think he was just a qb coach then.
My other buddy jason Michael's, now the titans offensive coordinator, was qb. He wasn't the best athlete in the world but Willie made him seem that way.
Oh yeah, he was a prick too. Lol

No. You have made your opinions on Taggart perfectly clear, and contradicted yourself in the process. I my view, you showed your respect for Taggart in your first post in this thread by calling him a punk. Then a post or two later you shout he is not respectful to anyone. Kettle meet pot.
I have a hunch FSU's search/hiring committee did their due diligence into Taggart's character. That is good enough for me. Its a done deal now as is me with you.

Second post. ;)
Very good.
I expected something very similar.
You obviously know nothing about him aside from he now is a Seminole.
A man that could make a point would. But you have a hunch. :tu:

W-L record 47-50 with a .485 win %

He walked into a mess at WK and USF. He done a pretty good job getting them out of it.

I didn't know his background, but your post intrigued me. You are correct.

At WK, they broke a 26 game losing streak by going 2-10. Then went 7-5 two years in a row. That's pretty good especially factoring in playing some big boys (LSU & Bama). He had a similar turnaround at USF. Sometimes, numbers don't tell the whole story.

But, I didn't realize he had the deal at Oregon last January where three players were hospitalized as a result of the military-style workouts they were doing  !

Yeah the Oregon stuff wasn't good. I don't know much about him at all. Especially personally like Mudbone does but other than the Oregon situation I haven't heard anything. I do realize he walked away from Oregon after one year but I saw that coming a mile away. His dad passed away and he always said UF and FSU were his dream jobs. He wanted to get back closer to his mother in Florida. So when Jimbo went to A&M I knew it was a matter of time.

When asked about the transgressions of college players Bobby Bowden said:" If college football was about discipline, Army and Navy would play for the National Championship every year". :tu:

Maybe the FSU AD used campus police to look into Taggart's background. After all, they did such a great job covering for Jameis Winston.

You got the Army vs Navy reference correct but it had nothing to do with what you wrote/think he was asked.

The actual question and his reply and has since been quoted hundred of times, was "whether or not discipline is the key to winning". To which he replied, "if it was, Army and Navy would be playing every year for the National Championship."

Context matters.
