I wish I had a lathe to do so.
I got the pots from a friend. I am thinking about buying a lathe myself.
how much does a whole setup typically set you back?
I don't know the exact $$$ but I know its a lot for a good one. I read on oldgobbler a lot of guys use one from harbor freight and its around $130.

$130 sounds cheap, but does that include the tools needed?

I know this is your guys' thread.... but believe it or not, ole REN turns some stuff.... he could probably give you some info too.

$130 sounds cheap.... and not for the tooling needed either. Sure you might can buy a cheap one to play with but if you were going to get serious, it will cost you.... I'd for sure expect to spend $1,500-$2,500 on a decent set-up.

You will have to have a wood source and a wood stabilizing source.

I knew the good ones would cost some $$$$. The guys on oldgobbler spoke highly of the cheap harbor freight lathe.

Both public and private, Gibson, Crockett, Carrol, Weakley, Madison, and Obion counties.

Hey MB, not to highjack you guys thread, but where are you located? I'm in Kenton, hunt some private land and public land in the area. Do most of my hunting in Franklin, TN. I was just curious as to where you were, cause we look to be pretty close!

Gibson County , Medina! You have some really good hunting just to the south of you!

Oh yeah! There's a big public bottom just south of me that normal produces some good birds every year.

I hunt that some maybe we can meet for a hunt or 2, breakfast on me!

Despite the fact we are on separate teams for the TC, I am game. And whoever does the shooting pays for breakfast!

You got a deal! Does'nt matter to me who does the killin! Id just as soon work the bird as shoot, as long as I have breakfast and a good time thats all that matters to me.

Sounds good to me! I'm right there with ya. Maybe we can hook 2 hot birds up and double up on 'em, earn both of our teams some points!

Haha I openly and frequently give to charity. I suppose I can manage that one too!
