I'm interested in hearing why you think mariota will be a bust. Saying he hasn't played under center is not good enough. Tampa Bay has shown their hand with their new offensive hires that are strongly linked to the spread offense and Oregon. Winston will fall. Mariota will be the face of the franchise and like Andrew Luck, a hard worker who has character and respects the game of football. There were about 17 kids in the student union at FSU who were all yelling,cutting up acting a fool, a meme that was started by an adult news caster.Everyone including Winston yelled it,but not from a table top,and not at a girl.He should have put himself above that kinda foolishness but he didnt. He was trying to fit in with the other students.He got suspended for the Clemson game. All the other crap he got away with, dont know what this refers to..It will take a couple years to teach Mariota the Pro Style which Winston has run since P.A.L.football as a kid.He doesnt,Mariotta, have the footwork ,never called a play in his life,by his own admission at the combine.Only played under center 5 times in his last year.Shooting squirrels with a BB gun,come on.He walked out of Publix with a security guard ,with crablegs.Maybe he took one for the team,he still paid a fine ,got community service and was suspended by his coach.BB gun fight,ok maybe. He says no.What are these things that make him such a bad guy?Who are the Spread QB's playing in the league right now? So...... Still interested in hearing why mariota will be a bust BESIDES NOT PLAYING UNDER CENTER. Not more of your winston din do nuffin talk.
Not taking snaps under center is the easiest fix Mariota has. Playing college ball against average at best defenses and a lot of runs when he should have thrown the ball out of bounds are not so easily fixable. Durability will be an issue if he runs much in the pros. Just my opinion.

I still want to hear why you think mariota will not be any good in the nfl. If the only reason you can come up with is that mariota hasn't played under center, just say it. But, that would be like saying winston is gonna be a bust at qb because he is black.

Mariota plays in system.It will take time to learn to play in the Nfl pro set. Teams cant afford to pay to sit and learn. I base my opinion on the qbs that came into the league in the last 10 years. Akili Smith to joey harrington to marcus mariota from oregon.Some coaches teach to win games,some teach to have their students continue on in the pros.Mariotas first inclination is to run. He wont last.Please name spread qbs who have succeeded in the nfl and have lasted for any length of time.Announcers come from somewhere.Jameis will never be one.He is a qb.

Pat Forde of Yahoo Sports was all but begging all those involved in those first tweets to give him an interview, but none agreed and I will spare you all the tweets back to him refusing to do so and tweets from others letting him know exactly what they thought of him, but it was not pretty after the efforts he made to turn what these people thought was funny into a negative story.
Four of the people tweeting originally claimed he got up on a table. Three people said he was in the union. Only two of those tweeters mentioned he was actually on a table in the union. Two of the original tweets mentioned he was right in front of HCB, a big lecture hall near the student union. Other tweets at those tweeters further confirmed it was in front of the HCB building.
One of the issues with this entire incident was the media just running with the original tweets and paying no attention to the follow up tweets. According to one of the first tweeters, Winston was never on a table:

If winstons was truly smart, his past would be a lot different and he probably wouldn't have thrown 18 interceptions last yr if he could quickly calculate what is happening on the football field quickly. very easily fooled by defenses. in fact, Rapeis threw the same amount of interceptions last season than mariota did in 3 yr college career in which he started every game.

Shoot check out the white board results and what others say of his intelligence. I will leave that to them. Look at the results of Dan Marino on the wonderlic--15. We know how bad he was. Wonderlic is different from reading defenses redblood----LOOK AT WHAT THOSE IN THE KNOW SAY ABOUT WINSTON AND FOOTBALL SMARTS. Sorry for yelling but you never hear.
a low wonderlic coupled with his high int total, plus his well documented off the field decisions, will paint a true picture of his decision making ability. it will be the third nail In the coffin. add 21% body, 4.97 40, slow shuttle, no vertical and horrible athleticism and you do not have a 1st round pick, much less number one. Plus Jimbo "Dumbo" Fishers previous number one pick was Jamarcus Russell. How did that one pan out?
