You are exactly right.....that's the point I was referring too....its not about being "scared" to play anyone, is it? Its about weighing out the pro's and cons of the outcome. If Kansas played home and home against Wichita State....there is a chance that they might have gotten beat by Greg Marshall and Fred VanVleet a few years ago....no reason for Bill Self to take that chance....is he "scared", no, is he smart to avoid that in-state loss, yes.....

The dispute is with Disney...which also includes the SEC Network and one other which I cannot remember
Its the whole shebang,, including ABC, but live games on ESPN , which owns the SEC network is all I'm interested in.
I did see where someone was livestreaming the bowl with BYU in it on YouTube

I don't think Barnes being scared of losing or it will make them look bad is the reason the series won't continue.
They lost the game last year and he signed a top 5 class. Barnes is known for wanting a hard out of conference schedule.
I just think he don't wanna mess with classless penny and Memphis. He will get another decent opponent with half the headache.

Yup, and when Barnes dropped 102 points on that flop festival in game 1 of the series penny cried like a baby.
The series was over right then.
Tiger High wasn't willing to play down a couple of players, so they crawled on their bus and headed home.

Yup, Barnes was "low class" on how he talked about Memphis said penny. And he was "doing to much" what a joke.Tennessee cleared the bench to fight us
The series was over after that UT win Barnes already knew penny wasn't worth his time.
I'm a fan of both schools actually, I went to Memphis State back in the day but my son is a graduate of UTK and I think the right decision was made given the circumstances.
I'm just thinking in terms of the safety of both teams....2 players on the MEM team tested positive this morning, which means other members of the team are almost certain to have also been exposed, even if they didn't test positive this morning, they might tomorrow.
The smart play for both teams was probably just not to play the game rather than risk the possibility of exposing all the players and coaches on both teams.
Like I said earlier, my wife, son and I all tested positive this week....we've all been vaccinated, we wear masks and we use hand sanitizer religiously...we honestly have no idea where we got it but this Omicron strain is no joke relative to how contagious it is....

I don't definitively....I guess I was more basing that on the fact that all three of us have thankfully had mild cases (thank God) which seems to be more common with Omicron... I'm not sure which strain we got...I was just speculating....could be any of the strains I guess?
I started feeling sinusy last Friday, I picked up my son at the airport Friday night thinking I simply was having my normal allergy issues. On Saturday I started running a fever and I tested positive on Monday. So my son and wife went to have tests done on Tuesday and both were positive.
I work from home, my wife is retired from the Department of Justice....we very rarely ever go anywhere....our son lives in Montana and came home for the holidays only for me to get him sick!!

Barnes and Penny have a great dislike for each other. I don't thinkBarnes want the series to continue. As a Memphis fan (season ticket holder since 1981), allowing TN to play in Memphis isn't something I like.
Memphis dismantled Alabama by reducing the substitutions And playing seasoned players. If we had a real point guard, such as the Mem kid that went to Knoxburg, we'd be a better team.
The Vols don't want to play Mem in football and Mem doesn't want to play TN in basketball.
