Toughest NCAA Football Schedules 2014

The combined 2013 record of Florida's first 3 opponents this season was 5-31. Too bad bow season doesn't open on Aug 30th to give Gator fans something interesting to do until the Alabama game on Sep 20th.

I will throw one out there.... ALL SEC teams wished they had ND's schedule..... :)

Rice???
Purdue???
Syracuse???
UNC???
Navy???
NW???

Those would all be cupcake games in the SEC... SEC teams don't have the luxury to schedule that many weak teams.... :)

Florida's 2014 "cupcakes":

Home vs Idaho (1-11 in 2013)
Home vs Eastern Michigan (2-10 in 2013)
Home vs Eastern Kentucky (6-6 in 2013)

Tennessee's 2014 "cupcakes":

Home vs Utah State (9-5 in 2013)
Home vs Arkansas State (8-5 in 2013)
Home vs Chattanooga (8-4 in 2013)

3 points for Tenneessee

Florida's 2014 non-conference opponents:

@ Florida State (14-0 in 2013)

Tennessee's 2014 non-conference opponents:

@ Oklahoma (12-2 in 2013)

1 point for Florida

Common SEC opponents:

Florida plays @ Alabama
Tennessee is home vs Alabama

1 point for Florida

Florida plays Georgia at a neutral site
Tennessee play @ Georgia

1 point for Tennessee

Both teams are home vs Kentucky - push

Both teams are home vs Missouri - push

Florida is home vs South Carolina
Tennessee plays @ South Carolina

1 point for Tennessee

Both teams play @ Vanderbilt - push

Non-common SEC opponents:

Florida is home vs LSU
Tennessee plays @ Ole Miss

Close call, but going with Tennessee since it's a road game. 1 point for Tennessee

Florida and Tennessee play each other at Tennessee

1 point for Florida

Totals:
Florida 3
Tennessee 6

Tennessee wins the preseason strength of schedule matchup, which means absolutely nothing since it's based on 2013 records and college football teams can change dramatically from one season to the next as players come and go. However, we should all still LOL @ Alabama since they have the worst preseason strength of schedule ranking of any major program.

LOW TIDE!

So we have TN winning because of the cupcakes.... That's like GA SO beating FL.... :D

Actually, the Vols 3 non conference teams won 25 games last year, the little gators 3 non conference teams won only 9 games.Gators not only play 8 of their games in the state of Florida but play 3 cupcake teams that only won 9 games total.

Here's where a little education comes in about college football.... :) Schedules are done years in advance, so getting an easy or tough schedule with non-conference games are a roll of the dice....... I'm thinking those 25 wins were against nobodies..... :)

Why we got to be haters.... :D Normally if you root for a team that plays a rival..... :) You are going to talk smack about that team. No different than you hating the Gators and just because this is a Tn hunting forum doesn't mean Vol fans should be cut any slack.... :)

National Titles

Saban 4

Stoops 1

It ain't even close. There's a reason it's a big deal to beat Saban/Alabama. People don't talk about a win against Oklahoma except in passing.
