Tree stands left in the LBL woods

Ladder stands, loc on stands...in violation of LBL regs...No name, address, on the stands and left beyond the 5 day after season closure rules to be out..I come across them daily back in the woods as I take down illegal flagging, "Bright eyes", and other items left...The trash on the side of the roads and in the woods has gotten totally out of hand...

Not surprised. Unfortunately, hunters can be lazy slobs at times. Many are excited and motivated to put stands up as they anticipate season opener, but want nothing to do with removing their personal property once season is over and it is bitterly cold outside. I see personal property left behind often on numerous public lands.

Screw that place. But while on the topic, if I lived closer, I'd be more than willing to take them. Can't have too many stands. Hell, put them on FB marketplace. If someone "complains", well, you've found the guilty SOB

Thanks for cleaning up the woods. It's all litter in my eyes. I'm always tempted to post the GPS coordinates of the stands I find. I've got no use for them, but if someone else wants to haul them out, they can have them.

TN side is the only side I am familiar with..these 2 are in Unit 16..another one off 79 Hwy..will need to be sawzalled out of the tree...chain embedded in the tree..

I haven't seen any Karens there but have cleaned up the woods at LBL for 48 straight years. I have come in contact with lots of slob hunters though.

On a positive note: the young feral hog trapper there trapped 2 large boars on Bear Creek and got another in this trap off N/S trail this morning....

Hey PO Cedar, thanks for going above and beyond in cleaning up the place.

I sure remember and enjoyed our first of November hunts and camping @ Neville Bay years ago. We had some great hunts.

Remember that time it rained so hard? You said you were glad I had that waterproof tent..... not a drop of water seeped OUT of it. We were soaked! LOL

Sounds like abandoned property. No name or address on the stands, left in woods past allowable time.....

I posted this hoping the ones that left the stands would take notice and remove them...Some have been there for years on the same tree; dangerous, and left in conspicuous locations..Some adventuresome kid or non- hunter climbing these could result in a broken neck...Regulations are made for valid reasons the majority of the time. I remember when all this printed money wasn't readily available and the average hunter had money for just one deer stand and he certainly didn't leave it behind..That Baker or Fox Squirrel stand was as important as his bow...I can tell by the placement on a couple of these stands that they are on the gun hunts.
