TWRA Letter to Land Owners

Unabated idiocy.

Has it even been proven that deer die from CWD? The reason I ask, is I watched a video a few days ago talking about that, and the guy stated that not one deer had actually been proven to have died from it. He said deer obviously die, but is it a direct result of CWD? I didn't know if that was fact or just a statement to meet his agenda. For what it's worth, the guy was a deer breeder in AL. He went on to say CWD was a disease only found in older deer, similar to dementia in humans.
No they haven't ever proved a deer died from CWD. They have tested positive after they were shot but never "died" from just having CWD that I've ever heard proof of.
Let nature take its course imo.

While I am completely against sharp shooters coming in & wiping out deer, the guy from Alabama is a shill for the deer breeders who don't want to accept any responsibility for the spread of CWD. Most ppl that had polio who died didn't die directly from the virus, they suffocated. Most ppl that have HIV who die don't die directly from the virus, they die from an unusual pneumonia. The point is that individuals are dying as a result of a disease, even if not directly from that disease. And CWD can be found in deer of any age.

Anybody else get one of these letters? Buddy of mine just got it. TWRA asking for permission to kill deer on his property to slow the spread of cwd. They are also offering special permits to land owners to shoot deer outside of season.
That would be a big "HELL NO!" from me.

No way, not happening on my little farm. Have not gotten a letter, but wondered if some larger nearby farms let some on last year. Might explain why the lack of mature bucks around this past season.

If I remember correctly, when they started sending these letters out a couple of years ago, you had to be within so many miles(3 I think) of a gps pin(from checking in on the app) from a deer that tested positive.

I wonder if they target does only. If so, id be ok with it. But will they shoot a healthy looking 2.5 or 3.5 yr old
Buck? If the goal is to reduce population, it makes nonsense to kill bucks. Do their trigger men like to see antlers through the scope before they pull the trigger? Id wager they kill anything they see, so definitely a hard no for me
