There's no such thing as a home run hire when a coach is changing teams. Kiffin was a home run hire for USC, Ed Orgeron - Ole Miss, Bill Callahan - Nebraska, Muschamp - Florida, and about 10 ND coaches.... lol

Shoop hasn't coached at Vandy for 3 years and he doesn't have James Franklin holding his hand anymore. Just like Roper didn't have Cutt holding his hand anymore when he went to UF as the OC. That home run, can't miss hire sure sure did bomb, in just one season....

I'm not going to waste a lot of time trying to get the home town crowd to understand that there's no such thing as a home run hire. If you don't believe me, ask the the Dolphins about Saban. The same crowd has been guaranteeing a win over UF the last 11 years. . Like I stated, none of us really know how this hire will really turn out. We are all just guessing...

Clemson has stoled 3 Players from the state of TN and all 3 are ballers. Higgins a 5 star WR that lives 25 minutes from Neyland Stadium. Another would be Tee Martin's son who plays 10 minutes from Neyland Stadium. Of course he's a 4 star and UT is only focusing on 3 star players this cycle.

If they are fine with shunning the home team of the state that they have grown up in and where all of the important things in their lives reside, so am I. I would rather have a 3 star that is homegrown that wants nothing more than to help his home team in some way than a 5 star that just wants paid. Flame on. I don't give two squirts. :tu:

I have heard two different stories why that he is picking Memphis. He's not originally from the U.S., big name schools mean nothing to him and he wants to stay close to family. The other rumor was that his grades are boarder line. Still along way to signing day.
