Vols vs MTSU!

MTSU showed out the first half. They were on fire.
Great pull away in the 2nd half but give credit to MSTU. They weren't intimidated.
As Wayne mentioned, our bench is thin.
To compete against the Auburns and Alabamas, etc., we need ZZ to knock down some open 3s, and it would be nice if Igor could get them to fall as well. He has a nice looking shot.
An off night for Lanier will be hard to get a W.

Carr announced today that he was redshirting the rest of the year and going into the transfer portal. The Vols will end up having to play some walkons in critical situations before the end of the year.

seen that, I got roasted on here 2 weeks ago because I said this is a decent team that isn't very big and doesn't have a deep bench, but will still win a good amount of games. Its rare you make it though SEC play without a guy or two going down for a bit. Barnes has had teams in Knoxville that rotate 8-10 solid players, and I'm just not seeing that this year.

It was a good game,MTSU was really good most of the game until late in second half!ZZ is having a rough go on his 3 pt shots,hope he finds it before SEC play starts!
ZZ is struggling bad. We need him to get his shot back or the defenses will stop focusing on him behind the arc. Lanier is a gamer! Comparable to DK so far!

Lanier is a great player,hopefully ZZ will come out of his slump,we sure need his scoring!!Gainey has sure improved his shooting from last year,he was a big reason Vols beat Illinois!
He was practically the only reason they beat Illinois! Yes, he's much improved. I think the coaches have done a great job with him.

If UT has to count on ZZ to get 20+ a night they are toast. He's always seemed like the most important player on the court but never super aggressive and his shot hasn't ever been consistent.
You guys are right. They have to find another role player or two to make a deep run.

I don't think ZZ will ever need to get 20+, but if he did you are right, we're toast. If he can run the offense and play great defense like he does now and throw in 10-12 points a game he will be doing his part.
ZZ just needs to be a threat from 3.
If he can make 2 or 3 a game, then the D will have to guard him a little tighter, which just opens up his drives and lobs. He is awesome at putting the ball where it needs to be.
And, he HAS to stay out of foul trouble.

A little slump for now but I'm hopeful he will come out of it by time of SEC schedule
