Wampus Cat (edited)

I get the same next door as you I guess. I saw the one last week about the cougar killing the fox???? Back in the winter a lady posted about a bobcat near a school and she contacted the school to go on lockdown and telling parents to watch out for there children. Another lady wanted the " community" to buy cat food, tuna, and sardines for the neighborhood fox so the fox didn't have to kill mice, rabbits, squirrels etc or as she said " her wild fur babies " . Folks can really advertise their stupidity on social media.🙄
Lol. Sociaism now applies to inner city animals. I dont see how could exist one day in a urban or suburban community. Id be on a water tower making my land stand

No pic to share, but I did see something a few years ago that I can't explain. It was middle of nowhere on Kimsey mountain (SE TN) was driving back in the mountains and saw what I first thought was a big bobcat, then I saw a long tail. It was a long distance so I did not see it close enough for positive ID. Not sure to this day what that critter was.

While I made a joke about this one being a mountain lion, I have no doubt there have been some to pass through the state and even been confirmed by TWRA. But it's definitely rare

The ones confirmed by the TWRA in Obion County and Humphreys County left the state and haven't been back since I believe 2016 or 17.

You're correct BSK about EVERY snake being a copperhead or water moccasin. A lady on next door sent out a pic of a dead snake ( she thought copperhead) that bit her dad, she was asking the " community" what to do . She ended up taking him to the ER, but first needed input from others on next door . Big argument the other day was about a " badger" , which of course was a ground hawg then an argument started over weather it was a ground hawg or woodchuck . We for sure have the market cornered on stupid around here, no where else even comes close.
