West TN Duck Reports

And I'd bet the majority of those calls were blown by someone that didn't know how to call, when to call, or how to sound like a real mallard hen.
No doubt! Even if they did, once ducks are educated and know where they are going, its seems senseless to call. Its just downright depressing.

We had some guys set up 300 yards from us Saturday. They crippled every duck they killed and had to get the boat out to chase them down. I'm not kidding when I say they probably averaged 10 shots per duck. They would shoot at a cripple 3 or 4 times after they got the boat out. One time they chased a cripple down toward us. They were 150 or so yards away and we had ducks working. They shut their motor off and started calling to them. You can't make it up.
Not everyone can sling TSS at em like you rich guys 😜

This irks me to no end.. They going to call them to the boat? Idiots... Also when people go out in the decoy spread and start calling while standing in the decoys. I can probably count on one hand how many groups I have seen finish while someone is standing in the decoys. Get out there quickly and do what you need and get your @ss back in the blind.. Some of dumb stuff I hear people do now days is maddening. Basically whatever it takes to kill a duck to "make a pile" for the gram...

Brother from another mother!

Man I am dying to shoot some TSS at em! Just can't afford it. I did try Bismuth and it was not impressive. I had to go back to steel and I hate it.

Talked about this with a buddy this afternoon. Told him I used to buy the cheapest shells because I bought them by the case now I buy them by the box might as well shoot TSS lol

Take a pocket full of lead with you. Your first shot can be lead followed by nearly useless steel. Dump that pocket if you need to. ;)

Sounds like old hickry

I turned off hevisteel when they had that bad batch back in 2015/2016. Bismuth number 5s 2 3/4 are the best shells I have found.
My dad did the same. He'd thrown away the box and they wouldn't take them back so he said no more. The bismuth I tried was Boss #3s and I didn't see an appreciable difference to justify the $. But obviously we all stick to what works for us.
