What did you do today in the reloading room?

I was testing to see if my standard m or mountain tactical mags would work with the 223, el negative-o.

Probably the best replacement that I know of, just expensive.

There's a huge issue with the mountain tactical mags and I'm not sure what it is, but they're supposed to be revising it. I think most of the first run of the gen2 is replacing the originals

Mine are short action for my 7mm08 and they've been great in it but the .223 in the 708 mag was an absolute no.

I started out last fall wanting to move a 6.5 Grendel upper to get my youngest daugter a 6 arc. Here I am now, sold half of what I had, and 2 new rifles in complete different directions lol.
I am kinda glad your 6.5G project went the other way. Some of that "half what I had" has been great for my new rifle projects…

I actually got some loading done today, first time in a few years.
I loaded up 50 rounds of subsonic 300AAC BLK to try in my suppressed BRN-180 upper. I loaded thes with 11.6gr of Hodgon CFE BLK powder with 208gr Hornady Match BTHP bulllits. Only 5 degrees here today, so too cold to go out and try them.

Finally the cold weather broke a little and it was a balmy 36 degrees with light winds. I needed to fire firm some new Lapua brass and test out a load with 44.14 grains of N150, CCI BR4 SRP and Berger 200.20x bullets in my custom F class target rifle in .308. Average speed from my Garmin was 2665 fps with an ES of 35fps and SD of 8.4.

It took a minute to get centered up and adjust the tuner but my last 20 shots were clean with 12x. I'll take the 2.13 inches of vertical at 600 yds.

I think you may be onto something there buddy! I just envy you being able to get out TO shoot! LOL I'm still slipping and sliding just to get out of the backroads to the main road over here! 😩

I just got a tikka compact 1-8 twist. The magazines are stupid short. There's a solution and it's costly. My intent was to use 75gr eldm but the bearing surface is short and the nose is ridiculously long. 73s are much better and are designed to be loaded at AR mag lengths, which is nearly what the tikka mag is. You can use a 77tmk in the tikka mag too, but they're quite a bit more expensive. You might be able to use the 69gr tmk with a 9 twist.

If it wasn't for my youngest child, I'd probably picked up a 22-250 with the 8 twist. That would be fun

Hopefully I can have some Tikka .223 data to report later this week. I'll start with 68's unless I have some 75's in the cabinet.

That's what I got. No in love with the spacer but it'll work while to kid is little. I'll have some of a report this evening on the 73s

A friend is going to try and work out something on his printer. If it works I'll hook a brother up.

Did you get a trigger spring or you gonna roll factory. I ordered 2 and swapped them out but rednecked the third tikka I have.

I just clip 2 coils off the factory spring and adjust the grub screw until it's drop safe. I did that with my ctr and it's 17-18oz.

I'll start with 68's and Imr4895 probably, gonna be a little crunchy, lol.
