What did you do today in the reloading room?

I've actually not loaded any in awhile but, did seat some Lee TC 230 gr. a little deeper. I had about 100 rounds loaded at 1.200" overall length. 1 or 2 out of a magazine would fail to chamber. I seated some of them to 1.190" and it seemed to work. Only .010" deeper but, 16 rounds chambered and fired fine.

This was a few weeks back.....

Acquired 70 grain Accubond in .224 caliber.

Price was at edge of my tolerance-decision level but I wanted them badly.

Acquired 150 grain Accubond in .308 caliber.

Again, price was at edge of my tolerance-decision level but these are what we shoot (exclusively) in 4 bolt guns and we were down to the nubbin in inventory. At least the price was best I had seen in long time plus there were no quantity restrictions.

Loaded up the last of my 1 oz Lee slugs after finding a powder and wad combination that worked well. Using 1 oz lead shot data was hit or miss, some poor crimps and a couple of bloopers. Finally found a Green Dot load that works very well with a 12S0 wad. Trying to find a winning combination for the 7/8 oz slugs now. Also loaded up the last of my 170 gr Sierra FMJ silhouette bullets in .357 mag after finding a good charge of WC820 pull down.

Been awhile since I've loaded anything. I got some 150gn silver tips not long ago from a member and want to see if they fly as good as the BT for my 280ai. Loaded up 5 at 59.5, 5 at 59.8 and 10 at 60gns. 60 gms 4831sc with 150 BT's is the magic load to date. Next on agenda is 100 Barnes 110 tac-tx over h-110 for the 300bo. Looking forward to some range therapy soon.

Not really from today but from earlier this week. I have a grandson who informed me that he wants to try deer hunting. He has a brand new Browning A- bolt 308 win that I sold his dad 20 years ago. Scope is boresighted but rifle was never even sighted in! Anyway I rounded up all kinds of used 308 brass that I had. Using a variety of powders I loaded up a variety of 150 grain ballistic tips. Got to get that boy to the range and let him practice a little, after it is sighted in that is.

Not the reloading room per say, but I did find a way to make the bolt on my Salvage AxisII suck slightly less.

I bought a $15 knob from eBay, gassed up my 4" cutter and my bench grinder, then ran a 5/16x24 die over it. It feels like a little poopie turd instead of a big giant turd now.

A little black spray paint on the handle to match the knob and that sucker will look just fine!
