What did you do today in the reloading room?

I de-primmed, resized, cleaned primer pockets and tumbled the last 300 pieces of once fired 270 Win brass I have. I started reloading last summer. From 2005 until then I shot factory ammo, plus I had people give me their once fired. Now I have about 1000 pieces cleaned and resized ready to reload. I figure I will be using once fired brass for a long time. Good thing we have 3 270's in the family.

I deprimed, full length sized, trimmed to length with inside and outside chamfer, then wet tumbled 280 pieces of 30-06 brass. Finished reloading all of them with a CCI 200 primer, 47 grains of IMR-4895, Sierra #2125 150 grain Gameking spitzer bullet with a light crimp using a Lee factory crimp die. Placed them into m1 garand clips, plan to use some of them at a match this weekend.

FTF with some CCI 500's. Enough so that we went with Fiocchi. Same for Winchester brand. Skipped using CCI and Winchester even though we had some Winchester still on hand. When Federal primers came into stock we immediately snapped up a few.

I would swear the CCI's cup varies in thickness. Side by side comparisons are not scientific but we did that and it was enough for me. My Sons did not agree with me....but they had no answer except don;t use CCI for defense ammo.

I have used thousands of Federal primers-just about every centerfire rifle size. Never had a FTF or any type of primer failure. The knowledge that when we pull the trigger we get ignition is what we insist on.

What load are you going to use?

Finally finished with SS tumbling. Got so far behind when I was recovering from surgery.

Firing up the 9's autopress. We have about 1000 already primed and that process is going on with the poor old RCBS Auto prime tool hard at work.

note: after more than a few jams with the autopress primer feed mechanism I gave up. We use the Auto Prime now for all priming activity. We have 4 each small and large primer tubes. Once you get all 4 empty its break time while you reload all 4. Remove the decap pin from the sizing die and all is well.

This morning I took new Starline .308 brass and chamfered/deburred the neck, graphite lubed the neck/sized it and primed the cases with CCI 200 primers. Then setup the FA Intellidropper to drop some powder for 4 different test loads of 150gr Sierra hollow points

I drug my Tikka ctr out of the safe and put a scope on it, loaded 5 and checked zero. I'm heading to Dead Zero on Wednesday with the mythological JCalder so it's now time to load up a few.
