I am going through my mind what I need to make sure I have for tomorrow. What is the most common thing bow hunters forget? I think I am good to go, but I am going to go ahead and put on my broadheads tonight. I keep thinking I am going to go to the woods with field points!

I forgot my release once. Had a six point at twenty yards. Those arrows don't fly worth a darn when you pull them back by hand. That deer stood and watched me take shots at him. Then walked off. I realised I left release when I started to leave the truck, I did'nt have enough light to back home and get so I thought I would give it a try. It won't happen again.

I bought a new release yesterday. I put it in my pack so I wouldn't forget it.

I hope you shot it, or at least tested it on your bow with one of your hunting arrows.

I bought a back-up release, and didn't realize that the jaws were a little longer than my other one. When I put it on my string loop, I couldn't close the jaws because it hit the end of the arrow nocks. Fortunately my new Easton Epics have slightly shorter nocks, so now it itsn't a problem for me.

I've forgotten most of the stuff mentioned here, plus some. Ever try to field dress a buck using just your fingernails and teeth? Or have to take the lace off your boot to tie on the kill tag?

Once I forgot my camera, and had to draw a picture of the deer. Of course, I'd also forgotten to bring along paper and crayons, so I had to draw the picture in the dirt with a stick.

Most disturbing is last year I went on a three-day hunt in Kentucky and forgot my range finder. Having never set eyes on the place before, all I could do was pace off a few spots from the stands and trust my range estimation.

Didn't work; shot right over a nice 8 point's back.
