After a fantastic hunt this morning I got the pleasure of interacting with several other "hunters", while waiting for my partner to return from his hunt.

The level of idiocy I see displayed by pretty much every hunter I run into anymore is astounding, I listen to them carry on and am thinking the whole time how in the world did you get out of your door this morning and if a turkey pecked you in the face you couldn't kill it. These people have no clue about the woods, birds, calls, hunting in general etc. they're just out there in the freaking way.

As a sport the bar is getting lower and lower, although I do enjoy the stupid things these dip***** start spouting about.

Goodness gracious...and I thought I was full of myself sometimes. I think you've got me beat by a country mile.

If you're going to lump every hunter you come across into the category of idiots, at least put forth the effort to provide some examples. The "everyone sucks except me and my buddies" shtick is pretty lame by itself.

Kinda what I was thinking as I scratched my head reading this.

Some of y'all are as sensitive as school girls.

Yes, they're idiots among us and more idiots then competent outdoorsman on public land around here.

If it makes me full of myself for not...

Too lazy to walk 100 yards off the road to get to a bird, so you drive your truck through the woods to get "closer"
Driving around leaning out of the car window occasionally to call
Telling others TWRA is stocking rattlesnakes in the WMA's to help control pig populations
Hunt turkey wearing a white T shirt
Have a turkey fan tattooed on my neck
Trying to convince another that a woodpecker hammering on a tree is a gobble
Doing donuts in a food plot on my 4 wheeler while turkey hunting
Not being able to sound like anything in nature with a call in hand or mouth
Shining Q beams into the tree tops before daylight
Generally being an uneducated drain on society

I could go on for days, but excuse me for considering people who do any of the above idiots, frankly that's what they are...idiots. Sorry your delicate feelings are hurt, but I do not view these types as competent outdoorsman and they are just in the way.

I'm assuming the offended partake in many of the above traditions and fit the description.

If I had to choose, I think I would prefer to hunt with idiots than have to listen to the negative ramblings, complaints and unsolicited advice of self-righteous know-it-all my way or the highway turkey hunters! But that's just me. In the famous words of Shakespeare, "The lady dost protest too much, methinks."

Sounds like certifiable idiots to me, 3 guys hunt the same farm we do, every day they are sitting in the middle of the cow pasture with decoys, no face mask gloves or anything, but the birds are henned up lol

Twice this season we have walked by them, up into the woods and walked back by them with gobblers on our shoulders. They just will not climb them hills.

I know where you're coming from. I've got a couple Elmers next to me. I just smh at some things they do.

No surprise to see him double down...

No surprise to see him whining like a child. What's wrong can't handle someone highlighting that theirs a huge bunch of morons toting guns and pretending to be hunters? Or is it that I highlighted a bunch of things you do from time to time? My gut says the later.

I'm trying to think of who the equivalent of Setterman is in the Serious Deer Hunting Talk forum. Fortunately, nobody comes to mind. Maybe it's just a turkey hunter thing...

I hunt a lot of public land and tend to lean towards Setterman's side. Although I'm lucky more of the hunters I meet are at least half decent. But there are always idiots too.

Setterman, keep the location of where you are hunting in mind. There aren't any Ivy League colleges around here for a reason...
