What size/type memory stick to use with p32

Yes, a little. Maybe 1/2 a second longer.

I am almost positive ,that it would not be good to use that big of card,the older sony;s were slow to read a card,I do not think the board comes into play in this process.It is all about the card reader in the cam.
The s40 is slow to wake up ,but when it gets started in trailmode it will fire like a machine gun,as long as you stay with the 512.

I agree that for card-reading speed, a 512MB card is best for the P32 and S40.
