And also IU, Clemson, and ASU. They played their way in. Good on them. Everyone knows they would get curbstomped by USCjr, Bama, and others. What do you guys think they should do? Put the eye test team in or the ones that earned a spot? I want to think the ones that played their way in. But then they get in and are drilled year after year. No agenda just want y'all's take.

I think in any given year there are really only about 2 teams, or maybe 4 at most, that have a legitimate shot at winning a National Championship. They very well could add more teams to the playoff next year, but I'm afraid we're just going to see more games like we saw last night and is on right now.

I'd agree with that. I still like the idea of the Big10/Sec only league. Everyone has a real opponent every week. No trouble with seeding due to SOS and conference membership. That's a long way off thought would be AAA baseball at that point effectively

I like the conference champs getting automatic bids, but not automatic byes.
I believe that is one we can all agree on. It's a hard one to solve for though. You'll see teams care even less about conf championship games if they do that. I'm not sure what the right answer is but you are spot on.

It's easy to speculate . Any team can look horrible any given day. Vols vs Arkansas. Georgia vs Ga Tech, Gumps vs Candy. It happens . SMU hasn't gotten steamrolled even though the score looks like it, they have made dumb/ unlucky mistakes near the goal line. Vols May get hammered tonight, hope not , but you never know .

Their QB has had probably the worst day of his career. Been brutal to watch.
