Seems to me that opening day in my area tends to be cold and windy, the cold OK, the windy not so good. Therefore, I prefer a little later when it tends to be nice and calm(and warm, lol).

It's the best time of the season over here. I would have a much more enjoyable season, save a ton of money on gas etc, save vacation time, save on aggravating the family, and be a lot more rested if I didn't start hunting until the third week

varies from year to year. Weather seems to be the biggest factor in the best times of the year to hit a hot streak.
