...and apparently there aren't many that are really great at football.

I was looking at the top 10 recruiting classes at the above link and I couldn't help but notice something. Other than a few offensive linemen and an occasional QB, big time college football is a black man's game. It appears that around 95% of the recruits in the top 10 classes are black kids. It's really pretty amazing when you think about it. The first black player to ever play for Alabama was John Mitchell in 1971. Fast forward 44 years and now almost the entire Alabama roster is black. The SEC is almost an all-black league. Right now Notre Dame has 22 recruits and only 3 of them are white kids. It's even more amazing when you consider there are a lot more white kids in high school than black kids.
I hope no one perceives this to be a racist post. It's really just an observation about the huge changes in the demographics of college football teams over the last 50 years. It makes me wonder - are all the white boys playing soccer and video games?
