Just sent 100 dollar to South Carolina for a Darin dawkins aluminum call. I was surprised he had one. I have been searching for a good aluminum call for several years. From what I hear this one will be good. Can't wait till mr postman gets here with it.

I've tried pretty much every call out there, and there is nothing that even remotely compares with his calls. Every single one is perfection IMO, and he is a very fine person.

You will love it, I have several of his aluminum and slate calls, in both wood and plastic. For those who do not want to spend $100, ask Darrin about his plastic pot calls, in both aluminum and slate, they were $50 last time I bought one. They are top notch as well and the plastic will not expand and contract with the elements of the weather. If you are hesitant to buy the cheaper (price wise) plastic version, just ask Darrin what he hunts with. ;)

Older Dawkins aluminum I have.

Few newer ones that I have not taken out of the packaging.

I exclusively hunt with his plastic pots, in both slate and aluminum. The plastic slate I hunt with is probably my favorite pot call and I have way too many to mention.

His aluminum call will be in my vest this spring. Make sure you keep a scotch brite pad on you to rough it up as it is slick aluminum (not blasted).

I run mine with a one-piece David Halloran Ipe striker and a two-piece dymondwood striker.

Love the pics Andy, and I use one his plastic aluminum calls on nasty wet days and it works fine. Personally I don't think it sounds quite as good as the wood pots, but is still a dang good call.

String music his newer surfaces have been sand blasted and are much easier to keep conditioned.

Interesting. Did he recently switch to sand blasted? I reached out to him a couple weeks ago on Facebook and he said he only used slick aluminum.
