Guess someone nearby doesn't realize centerfire rifle is not open. Just heard two back to back rifle shots maybe a second apart, maybe a half mile away at most.

Too hot to hunt but we're here. Sitting with my daughter this evening.
Out here in the rain today. Staying warm in a box stand. Really enjoying hearing the rain hit the tin roof.

Is anywhere in TN rifle legal this year? I know the CWD zone in the past allowed for it. Is that still going on?

Really not expecting much this morning with the warm temps and wind, was supposed to be raining so back in the covered stand.
Did just watch a little buck work over a licking branch on a scrapeline. Crows been going nuts, maybe a coyote around.

That's what I was thinking. Hopefully everyone knows. Saw two kill pics so far referencing rifles, one in the kill pic and one in the description. Could be out of state kills too.
Woke up and it was pouring down so didn't go this morning. I'll get home from church around 11 so plan to be in the stand from then til dark. Wind swapping to the north overnight and cooler temps coming so should make for a great week of hunting.
Little doe laid down right beside me, not 10yds away and has no clue. Being young and alone I'm guessing her mother is currently being serviced.

Had heavy rain for a few minutes earlier this morning, been drizzling on and off ever since. Did just have a decent 6 possibly a 7 following a doe right under the stand i started out yesterday morning in. He was steady about 75 yards behind her. Little spike is tracking them now.

Pulled the card on a camera on the way back, and pretty sure this is the same buck I saw chasing yesterday and again this morning, knew he had 6 and thought I saw a g3 on his right side. Decent deer, would be a good first deer for my son or son in law if the deer is still around when rifle opens. He was steady moving just barely inside the edge of the thin strip of woods in the pic above on the left side, going down the hill away from me.
Same spot I was at yesterday afternoon. Climbed in at 12:51 and snacks were gone by 1. Going to be a long afternoon.

Out with my daughter watching a food plot. Hot and windy but wind direction is right. Not too confident but have a bullet proof entry and exit and can't kill them from the couch.
