Since they started allowing 28 gauges on turkeys I had to find out what one would do. I bought a 870 Express and ordered a rem-choke barrel from Remingto along with a "special full" choke. I ordered some of the W-W 1OZ HS loads. I have shot it at several different yardages. Most of my turkeys have been shot from 35 yards and closer and the misses I have had have been on close birds, usualy between 12 and 17 yards. Out to 35 yards the 28 is going to do a good job. Out to 25 yards it is going to do a fantastic job. The small pattern is dense and the pattern starts opening early in flight. The velocity is over 1200fps so the energy will be fine as well. I am really looking forward to using this gun.reflex264
