My shooting house stood up to some pretty stout winds Wednesday and Thursday of this week by using the mobile home anchors and cable. But I wont lie I was nervous with it being out in the open. So I have a few of these upright racks left over. So I separated 1 of them by removing the horizontal bracing. Used a 1/2 inch grade 8 bolts and 240lbs of concrete per beam and added additional bracing for the wind. It should help me sleep better on those windy nights. 😆

You should really put up some kind of diagonal brace above and below your horizontal board. The other sides have and where the wood beams are there isn't good bracing. That's your weak point now.
I was actually thinking about that while I was out there today. I have more racks. I'll separate them and bolt them diagonally like said. With the price of lumber it's definitely cheaper to use these metal beams up. I went to a local ace hardware yesterday to buy 1 2x6x8 pressure treated, they was $17 for it. I told them to keep it.

I like that, I need to put one up that I can't dig in, it needs to stay above ground, so bracing and anchors will be the only way to go. I was going to use 4"x6" legs but just found out there are beavers in the AO, so would need to shield the legs if I go wood, just don't trust those suckers so steel will work great and I have racks left so it will work perfect. How are you planning to get up there? The ladder, or are you planning on some steps?

Beavers like many other animals are always expanding their range when there gets to be too many in one spot they move and easily find a new place with the proper environment and conditions. And also beavers will change the environment to suit them, one of the few animals that can do that.

Yes I'm going to use the ladder for now. I've spent so much money I'm going to save some money this year. Eventually I will build a nice platform and steps going up. Just not this year
