Asking for advise/ 20ga choke n tss

Factory full or even modified shoot great with tss in most guns, especially if you're looking for a little bigger "hunting" pattern for a youth.
Sage advice here. Tungsten shot (TSS) does not like to be over-choked, but you cannot make the masses believe it. 50 years of over-choking lead shot is a hard habit to break. Good luck!

My factory choke in my tri star holds a super tight pattern with the apex ninja 8.5's. I tried the Burgess Creek #9 and it blew the pattern too much for me. As good as the factory shoots I haven't tried anything else.

I have a Carlson's I'm not sure I'll ever use. Pretty sure it's the benelli crio as tri star is compatible with them. If you end up getting a gun that it'll fit you're more than welcome to try it.

I use a Stevens 301 20 gauge with a carlsons longbeard xr choke and use federal tss 3 inch 9 shot with a truglo gobbler stopper red dot. This is a great combo for me. I tried the carlsons tss choke and it didn't do as well as the longbeard xr choke.

i'm glad to see some mention of other than full chokes for the 20. i'm going to carry my old model 37 winchester (or a bow) this spring. i've killed birds with it, but wasn't happy with the patterns really. is 20 gauge 2 & 3/4 in ammo available with the TSS ? and will it burn me another one buying it ?:D

Yes, it's available and yes, it burns a little to buy. Lol. The pattern and effectiveness are worth it tho. Some people don't like the price, but for how many (or few) I shoot in a season, it's not the most expensive thing about turkey hunting. I do load my own, but if I didn't, I'd certainly buy them. Try you some Apex #9s and I think you'll be blown away.
