Bama/Texas

I'll guarantee that this ugly win will work to Saban's advantage in coaching his team. And even if they slip a spot or two in the poles after this Saban will use that as a motivator. As much as I dislike Saban and Bama, I won't disrespect them. The sloppiness from today will be cleaned up over the coming games and they will be a force to be reckoned with by the end of the season.

Lots of sloppiness in college football today by lots of teams. Even UGA's 33-0 win was ugly if you watched it. Lots of coaching and development to be done over the coming weeks by sone very good programs.

ALABAMA lost to OLE Miss in 2015 and came back to win the NC

GA will be #1 after this weekend, and it shouldn't be close.

The Texas message boards know they should have win, but are shocked they performed as well as they did.

I'd be surprised if Alabama dropped out of the #1 spot. They played their sloppiest game in over a decade and still managed to pull out the win.

Ur probably right. ALABAMA was suppose to beat Texas by more and did not. GEORGIA WAS SUPPOSED to beat Samsford by as much and did. So they get the jump. Just the way it works. Let the games begin.

Does Nick Saban coach his players to take out the opposing quaterback if they can't stop him, or is that just what thugs do? If they don't take out the Texas QB on a late hit, roughing the passer this game isn't even close.

Guess I'll be the odd ball again and say not a safety.

QB was obviously not down and with a forward throwing motion of his arm he threw the ball perpendicular to the line of scrimmage. The ball deflected off a defenders helmet and to the ground. Hard to see how that's grounding.

I think he was down but it's close. He's laying on top of the defender but his left hand is on the ground. Can't tell for sure if he throws it away before his forearm/elbow hits the ground. Again credit him for at least making the refs and review office make a call rather than holding onto it for a definite safety.

Spoken like a true Bama fan.

It really doesn't matter as Bama will have to deal with A&M soon, and it will take care of itself.

No, just a logical person that has followed college football for quite a while. Its very rare for a team to drop in the polls following a win. However, I don't think polls should come out until October.

But you are right in your 2nd comment, it really doesn't matter, I am still very confident that Alabama will make the playoff again this year. (By the way, A&M just lost at home to Appalachian State.)

hand on the ground is not "down" (just like feet) in football. It takes an elbow, knee, back, thigh etc...
