What is the best though?
Most effective I've ever seen in the timber is ASAT....I've wore my set out many years ago...And in the store it's not the most appealing to the human eye....but outdoors I've never seen another camo pattern break up a human silhouette like ASAT...and that's for turkey season to fall deer hunting....the color pallet with layers of of tan, brown and black along with the pattern curves....it just matches the natural environment...all season, all terrain...good stuff.

Anyone ever use it for waterfowl? Or is it too bright?

I wish I could find the article but several years I read an article where a guy did a study on camo patterns and how they would look to deer. Where most camo patterns looked good to us looked like a dark blob to deer. He then went on to show how a Hawaiian shirt would provide better concealment than a camo shirt. His study is what lead me to first lite fusion camo pattern. I felt like it did a good job on concealing and at further distance and not becoming a dark blob. At the time first lite only had two patterns and were a new company. They have come out with other patterns since then but I still like the fusion the best.

Yes....blends in perfectly with the brown and tans in oak brush or even the lighter cane that many brush blinds with....but again...most people look at it on-line or in the store and don't like the way it looks with it's large pattern....but the smaller patterns that look good to the human eye just look like a blob of one color at any distance...where the larger patterns, like ASAT, actual break up your silhouette...and the tan background never crosses over the brown then the brown never crosses over the black...which creates a 3D effect giving it depth....all my camo was ASAT at one time....but over the years its a worn out...you can still find it but it's not as common...changed ownership couple times I think?

But I totally agree with the original quote....being still and having the right wind is better than any camo pattern.

But the original question was:

"what's the best camo pattern?"
