That's the key right there, camo will not perfectly conceal you. Camo aids in breaking up the human silhouette it helps if you pick a stand with other things in the background to breakup your silhouette also. Has for me I use Mossy Oak Breakup a lot because that's what Academy Sports carries in their Magellan line. Throw on my old BDU from time to time also which is an underrated pattern or my multicams.
I know I'm bout to be hammered for this but personally I think bottomland is the best and as far as clothing goes I'd say Sitka for warmth. I have both and love both but there is something about that sitka jacket that makes me grab it over my drake. But as far as "camo" goes during gun we look like a freaking highlighter anyway
If you want a big buck you've got to be willing to make sacrifices. Risking carpal tunnel & knee surgery, or possibly being shot behind your shoulder is but a small price to pay for that giant rack on the wall.
My entire WV hunting club all used to wear Woolrich coats to hunt in. There were about 12 of us on any given morning that would put on one of these and hit the woods. We looked like an army. Nobody every froze to death, or even complained about getting cold after a rain. Only complaint was how heavy they were. I don't think any of us have worn a "richy" coat in the the last 10 years, favoring coats with newer more breathable, warmer, dryer fabrics. I still have mine and cherish it, but I doubt I ever wear it to hunt in again. Here's my good friend Chase in his about 10 years ago with a nice Cheat Mt buck.No it's not. There are many companies that offer wool hunting shirts. You can also find them easily on ebay.
I only wear wool clothes for hunting. It can't be beat.
Why would you need camo for deer hunting when you're wearing fluorescent orange.
