It wasn't really set to be just an 11 day season. The way the Proclamation is set is the night time season is the 3rd Saturday in January through the 2nd Sunday in March. Then, it reopens on the 1st Saturday of June and runs through the 2nd Sunday of August. Those dates will hit in 2025.
Due to the time period allowing for legislative review after being signed by the Secretary of State, the Proclamation couldn't go into effect until August 1 of this year. Thus, the August 1 opening and closing on the 2nd Sunday of August.
