Bamaproud might be the only one capable of answering this question. After the Buckeyes' domination of _ichigan today, they have one loss. The same number of losses as both Alabama and Oklahoma who are both currently ranked #2 and #3 in the latest CFP poll. Yet, Ohio State's loss is to a much higher ranked team than either of Bama's or the Sooners' (the Sooners loss was to an unranked team with a losing record).

I know what the common refrain will be so try to have an original thought. As a twist, Oklahoma is in the Big 12 not the "best conference in the world. Ever." Baylor lost. If Stanford beats ND (or maybe even if the Irish win) and If MSU beats Penn State which looks highly likely and MSU beats Iowa, I can foresee two B1G teams in the playoffs. Oklahoma losing will really help, but after Ohio State's absolute domination of the skunk weasels, things could get very interesting starting 12/1.

Their strength of schedule hurts them the most. and Bama and Sooners lost earlier in the season than Ohio state

OSU hasn't played anyone and lost to the only good team on their schedule. Pretty simple.. :)

Lol! I asked for an original thought not the old tired refrain.

By the way, until tonight who have the Gators played that's a "good team"? And that team isn't in the SEC. :rotf: :rotf: Today isn't chicken$&@t Saturday.

We will see. Bama's struggling. Clemson eked out a win. Might get interesting.

B1G has/had 4 teams in the CFP top 10 starting today. Will have 3 after today. How many does the SEC have in the CFP top 10 today and Tuesday?

Assuming ND wins today, CFP top 7 should be:

1-Clemson
2-Iowa
3-MSU
4-ND
5-OSU
6-Alabama
7-OU/Ok State winner

Temporal proximity of loss is not on the "Committee's" list of factors it considers. ND lost to undefeated #1 Clemson. OSU lost to MSU currently #5. Alabama lost in bad fashion to a team that might be unranked after today. Oklahoma lost to an unranked Texas with a losing record.

I asked for original thinking. If strength of schedule matters, please explain OU.

Get ready.

There's still hope, but since Alabama, and more importantly MSU, look like they will win today, ND and OU need to lose (and MSU needs to beat Iowa) and then maybe.

** Edited to remove reference to Sparty and Buckeyes being the two best teams. No disrespect to Iowa. The Hawkeyes are very tough and could beat anyone on any given day.

OSU choked their chance last week.

Play today's game plan last week, and they win by two TDs.

So true. It makes today bittersweet.

Was it just a coincidence today that Ed was up in the box for the first time this year and the play calling and up tempo play improved dramatically? I wish Urban had made that change a week ago. I think the "Committee" will take notice.

We'll see. If ND and OU lose tonight, Florida loses tonight and upsets Bama next weekend, then chaos will reign.

iowa isn't flashy they just seem to find a way to win and make other teams make mistakes. Going to be a good one next Saturday if they come to play.

Bammer will win NC this year.
I sure hope not. I've always been an SEC homer and pulled for the conference but there are soooooo many bandwagon bama fans it makes me want to puke. They have never been to Tuscaloosa and probably don't know what state its in. Many probably can't name one person on the team but by golly they're the #1 fan. :bash:

I don't like the bammer band wagon idgits either, there are many of them around here, but i do not see anybody in the top ten that can hang with them except maybe Oklahoma.

OK is playing the best ball right now. And they have the horses to use the UT game plan against Bama and sustain it for four quarters.

Unless LSU climbs back into the top 25 after their win yesterday, Alabama will have beaten no ranked teams going into the Florida game.

Soooooo alabama is not any good? is that your point?
