Disgusted

You guys are to much lol
Why look down your noses at other hunters ? We have enough people doing that. Lol

x2. I feel like so many people on here only hunt for sport and their own personal glory. I know a couple people really well who hunt for meat and meat alone. They have to use blinds and decoys because they aren't in great health and aren't very good on a call. It makes them no less of a hunter. I personally could care less about what methods people use to legally kill turkeys. Dead is dead at the end of the day and it doesn't change the way they taste!

man this thread is getting GOOOD!

I wont refuse to do anything, I dont like decoys and very rarely will i use them but i have a few spots where the setup sometimes helps to put one out. I dont like blinds either and actually never use them but now my son is 5 so i may use them from time to time to take him.

I like calls that sound good customer or production (99% thats customer) but i do still have an old yeller i like for whatever reason so ill tote it from time to time.

I like to hunt turkeys period and I like to do it with a few buddies. The memories of it are what i chase

I do hiding behind a brush pile being pinned down !! And yes it's been to long !! We need to chase some longbeards together again this spring !! I'll leave my decoys at home !!

Anytime, although the turkeys don't usually enjoy those hunts.

I can remember being pinned down a lot but can't recall a brush pile. I remember being on a 90 degree slope in ky and a bird peeking through a barbed wire fence.

The only brush pile I can think of is one in royal blue when I was set up calling for JL in a pile of logs, after being there for 30 mins or so I looked to my right and there laid a timber rattlesnake 12 inches from my thigh. I ruined the hunt, but miraculously didn't get bit. Thank God it was cool.

We will do it soon! The brush was on ky farm when I had to shoot through everything under the sun to finally kill the hill top bruiser !! What about the time I pitched down the side of the ridge trying to lure the top of the pipeline jerk another 5 yards closer only to hear you shoot and pace off the longest shot I have seen to date with lead !!

Anyone that turkey hunts for meat and meat alone must be using different math than I do. I could buy a dump truck load of butterballs for what I spend on turkey hunting every year.

I forgot about the ahole pipeline bird which stood just out range strutting for hours with you in the pit below trying to pull him a few extra yards so I could end his miserable existence.

I seem to recall a less than friendly bird 2 years ago that literally vanished from behind a rock here, that I still am trying to figure out his escape from death.

So what camo do you wear, if you want put those stickers on your truck then dont support them by wearing there camo

Theres a huge difference in a back window full of stickers, and a piece of clothing. Grand canyon difference.

night and day difference and shouldn't even be compared. imo

I agree. Just because I use a company's product doesn't mean I'm obligated to give them free advertising.

x2 I have a few stickers. but if I put a sticker on my truck its because I truly trust that company I don't just throw any idiot company on there. what funny is on Friday going to the nwtf all the companies handing out stickers like they are going out of style.

if someone hunts for only meat and not the thrill of the hunt then you do not need to invest very much other than time and a few shells. You can kill several turkeys a year for not very much. Say you are a farmer so you don't have to drive to your spot and you don't need a license. You have a gun you inherited, you buy a call for $5 and box of shells for $15. Spring and fall combined you could shoot 4-10 birds depending on county per year for only $20 worth of gear. Even if you factor in some gas and license money, you can still get your moneys worth and some much healthier meat for probably less than a corn fed butterball.

That's a whole lot of wishful thinking and not quite reality.....

You got that right Grizz. I would guess that way less than 1% of turkey hunters own a farm, live on that farm, loaded with turkeys, in the right county. But it's a nice fantasy. Where's my magic lamp?

I'm sure the stars align and a few hunters are lucky like that..... but not most.... even at a bare minimum, it will cost some $$$$.
