Well, I just sent payment to Hal for 3 lbs of TSS #9s. They should be here mid May. It looks like I get to learn how to reload before next year. I have been doing a lot of research the last few days and talking through PM here about reloading these. I am more than satisfied with the Hvy Wt #7 performance in our 20 gauges, however, it looks like the TSS will hopefully make the 12 gauge irrelevant and shoot even better. I really enjoyed packing the light weight 20 this year on the few hunts that I got to go. I really wish I had all of the components here now to tinker with as I am still hope recouping from surgery. It is kind of exciting to think about loading my own shells to hunt with as I have never reloaded.

I will begin collecting the other components as they come available and try to order them all together. It is a long time until next year and in no hurry, but from what I have read it is never too early to get the components and not to wait. I am sure that I will have plenty of questions as I go, and it is all off you TSS shooters fault that I am doing this so you'll have to help. :) :) :)

It's all Rockhound's fault that I started. Now I cant imagine going back to factory shells. It is a very addictive sub-hobby, but you'll never look back. if you have questions, fire away.

Why doesn't someone produce these commercially?
Some MS boys just started offering them, Apex Ammunition. They are a small business so not sure how the availability will be throughout the year, or how they will fare over time.

They (owners and his buddies) appear to not understand the BIG benefit of TSS though, as they killed most of their birds this year with 10 and 12 gauge loads (WAAAAAY OVERKILL). TSS really shines in subgauges that are lighter, have less recoil, and cheaper to load.

Also on ordering 3 lb. Don't be alarmed when it comes in. It sure wont look like 3 lb. lol . I panicked on my first order and thought dang the have only sent me one pound but sure enough when I weighed it 3 lbs on the nose. Sure didn't look like it.

I resemble that statement LOL

TNL - you're welcome....... :tu:

Darn you all. :poke: :)

This site costs me a lot of money sometimes but mostly towards the better. I have been very interested in the TSS since last year. After buying a 20 ga strictly for turkey hunting this year, I decided that next year I would take the TSS plunge. I have hunted strictly with a 20 for rabbits and squirrels for the last several years and never felt under gunned so why not turkeys too.

Nice! Now go buy a good .410 for next year...
We're not going that far or at least not right now. :)
The biggest drawback to me loading TSS for .410 is having to purchase the supplies to bulk load when I know I won't use it but every once in a while, more like a novelty than a tool I'll use year in and year out. If you want to tame the 20G down for small kids, you can load a 1 ounce load of 9.5s that is a killer out to 40 yards all day long.

Dang right. Half my bonus went towards Roost's recommendations and at first I was tempted to go over and steal his truck but in the end he was 100% right about it all.
