I would love to try it...but it seems like a lot of trouble. I would have to put my book down, unplug my earphones, get out off my cushioned chair, leave my comfortable blind and then crawl through all of my decoys!

And in 10 yrs of hunting there I've only encountered one trespasser that was looking for his dog.. So I feel pretty safe also never got pics of trespasser on trail camera, and never had anything stolen.. So I feel pretty safe. I just don't see anything wrong with it.. I guess it's the equivalent of seeing a big buck from your fourwheeler on your way out pullin over and shooting him.. What a disgrace! You showed absolutely no skill or sportsman ship in killing that buck..
Totally kidding! I mean it's a method that works, just because you like to simply call one in don't bash the next guy.. I love run n gun turkey hunting.. And work hard for every turkey I kill whether I call him in or not.. I have a full strut decoy and will use it in certain situations, but usually it's not worth toting it... I carry a jake decoy in my vest and put it up sometimes and sometimes I don't ( usually it's to risky, bird is to close). There is more than one way to skin a cat, and personally I find this method much more appealing than sitting on a field or strut zone just waiting one out.. By that I mean just sitting and waiting. I do plenty waiting but I always know ones close ( enough) and am calling..
I'm not going to bash you, you're hunting a wide open field where you are not likely to get mistaken for a turkey and are out of shotgun range of potential trespassers.ZachMarkus":2unk44xt said:Obviously it's not something you would want to do on public land but I only hunt private land and only use this method if he's strutting in the middle of a wide open field with some hens or something. I've been doing it a few years now and every turkey I've tried it on died. Most of them come running as hard as they can right up your gun barrel. Me and my buddy crawled up on some strutting in the middle of a 80 acre field last year and we had 4 big toms meet us half way across the field and we shot 2 of them at 7 steps. I would rather call one up if I can but crawling them is a very exciting and effective way to kill one. Go ahead and start the bashing [emoji1]
they are the most dangerous part of deer hunting. But they are so useful they will stay around, and safety equipment only gets better with time.BIGB":kx3t0tww said:I've not tried it yet but just for argument's sake I bet someone said the same thing about deer hunting out of tree stands. You know about them being dangerous and all.

Fanning them works so well there's no need for the HECS suit[emoji12]go_okfishin":ldlykywy said:That's bad but I just saw a commercial for HECS camo. It eliminates your electrical energy field so you can move around as much as you want, even stand up and animals can not detect you. Can't wait to combine fanning and the new camo together. :rotf:
yup but there are people who buy into that. New hunters. Those who stick with it and keep hunting will find out they are gimmicks and move on to more tried and true products.Tennessee Lead":grwcgnhq said:Andy S.":grwcgnhq said:LOL....the sh*t they come up with these days to sell hunters is mind blowing to say the least. Get one of these and you won't even know the fan is in theremuddyboots":2giw4p1j said:I used to hunt a huge cow pasture that the birds always seemed to stay in the middle. I always wanted a big cow silhouette to hold up and sneak behind. Ha Ha. I would try the fan in the right situation but im too lazy to carry a fan in my vest so I guess the situation prolly wont arise.
