Fort Campbell guys!!!

Early season hunting,Sept and Oct shoulnt be to much trouble getting an area.Depends on how many areas are open.
In my opinion.Yes some areas are overhunted.Like area 46.Its open almost every day but they still kill many deer out of it.Most areas arent overhunted. The number of hunters allowed in an area is limited for saftey.Sure someone will walk by you sometime but it is public hunting.

Hunting tactics?I very seldom hunt buck sign.Usually try to find the funnels.Maybe a grown up fencerow between 2 fields.I do like the water holes in early dry seasons.Just takes time to find them.
My best advice is copy areial phots and mark the boundaries of the areas. Then when you hunt an area and find a good spot mark it.

Check out Ft.Campbell MWR web site for rules and regs.Read the regs several times. The federal wardens there dont cut you any slack.Break the rules and they will suspend you.

Yes it is a hassle sometime just getting an area and following all the strict rules. But remember it is an Army base.

One more thing. If you find 1 or 2 vechicles parked where you were going to hunt.Go somewhere else.Just use common courtesy.

Oh yeah they still kill some big bucks there. Not me,always someone else.

do you bow hunt, gun hunt, all of the above??? might have a lil' info for ya MossyOakChick...

or for anyone else for that matter...

Is the post over hunted? Nope... Pretty hard to over hunt 90,000 plus acres surrounded by ag fields and wet lands... Just sayin'.
:)

10 & a wake up if anyone is counting...
this is an awesome website... dont know what took me so long to get on here... sure appreciate those folks who run the daily ops at the check station on post.

~jus sayin'...

I am re-counting
For some odd reason I had it in my mind that it opened on the 1st.
So on August 29th when I checked the areas on the web-site and only small game was open my heart sank.
The year came around fast but all of a sudden its been a long wait.

I can't wait til opening morning!! Wait a min.... yes I can b/c I'll prolly working while all you come in to get your permits or to check in your deer!! Damn working there sux sometimes!! lol Either way lets get it over with and see some big bucks taken on post this year!
I wish you all a great season! Be safe and know the rules before you go out and make a dumb mistake and lose out on the rest of the season!

Also on the 19th (2nd week of deer season) the website will be down for an upgrade for most of the afernoon/evening. I will be posting the hunting areas for the 2nd week on here, and on the MWR Facebook website for Ft Campbell. You can also call the office for the areas.
