There are alot of new hunters on post this year so be on the look out for Elmers walking around.

I thought last year was going to be my last on Ft. Campbell because of the FNG's. But I realized how many BIG deer still reside on that land during the off season.

This year really will probably be my last on the fort. We're packing up and heading out west while the calm of the storm is still here.

Anyone that has had a felony can't register a firearm or anyone with a charge of domestic violence.

Neither one of those should have a weapon anyway. It's a federal violation. So, basically there have been in the past a ton of felons hunting on Ft. Campbell when they shouldn't have been around any weapons. Unless it's a bow or muzzle loader.

So, they can't register a muzzle loader on post? How do they know who has a felony and who doesn't?

I'm not saying a ton but I have had several calls asking if they had a felony in the past if they could still hunt on post.

I'm pretty sure they aren't supposed to have a muzzle loader either.

They are supposed to run a background check when you register your firearms on post.

That's the first I've heard of a background check. When I registered my shotgun for turkey season the lady never mentioned a background check.

FORT CAMPBELL WEAPONS REGISTRATION AGREEMENT

I understand that IAW AR 190-11 Chapter 4-5, if I am registering my privately owned
weapon(s) on Fort Campbell, KY that I am agreeing to having a crimal background check
conducted to see if I am eligible to possess a weapon on the installation. I also understand
that if I have been convicted of one of the following that I will not be able to bring or register
my weapon on Fort Campbell.
EXERPT from 190-11:

I have read the above statement and realize that by signing below that I am willing to submit to a
criminal history check on my self to determine my eligibility. I also understand that failure to do
so will result in me not being able to register my weapon on this installation.

Must have been. I would have remembered reading that. The lady did not run a check on me while I was there and she gave me my paperwork. Not that it matters. I'm not a felon.
