i hunt area 01 some. maybe we'll run into each other sometime this yaer.
 
Picked up my post permit sunday and asked the warden if there were any big changes.
A few but nothing major.
Red Diamond road ends at the corner of Perimeter Rd.No more driving down to the range.
A few new roads that should be going the regulations soon.
A Boundary change on the east end of 23.Area 20 took a small amount of acreage from 23.
The boundary between 24 & 25 is now Scott Trail,a new road they made last year.
He said something about area 1,but since there aint no deer there anyway i didnt pay him no attention. :grin:
He did mention some high fences are possible in the near future.Especially around some areas where hunters coming on post illegally.Like maybe the 40s.
No G-N-B this doesnt mean the whole camp is enclosed by high fense. :grin:

Oh yeah he assured me the guys cought poaching a couple years ago were smacked real,real hard in Federal Court.He said they lost everything they had.Personal property,real estate and businesses.I asked him specifically how much and he said he was instructed not to say exactly what.Freedom of Information Act says this information is available.I will check this out.

Real nice guy.Enjoyed talking with him.
He said it was looking good for this weekend.Maybe alot of areas open?

Glad you brought up the gun reg papers....
I have scanned mine in color and stored the "extra" copy on the computer. I can now print one whenever neccessary. Keep one in my wallet, with my hunting license, truck, and the wifes car. Call me paranoid but I dont want to get caught without it.

The one I keep with in my wallet was scaled down and printed so it is about the size of a credit card when folded in half, enlosed it in sticky plastic to make it last longer. GW had no issue with it when I showed it to him at MWR. As long as they can read it and see the stamp.
 
I found it after tearing up the house and cussing the wife and kids ...it was in my truck lmao...oh well....I will print copies and keep one on me ,one in my van and one in my gun case

They posted the story again in the TWRA magazine. Federal charges were basically house arrest and probation. The state hit them harder than the feds. Check out the story if you can.
 
I can't hunt Sat any way but it was too busy in the office for me to even think about calling in at 0800. Oh well hopefully tomorrow I'll be able to get in for Sunday!!
