I'll admit this one caught me by surprise, but I'm not 100% disappointed. On one hand, Cochran is loved by the players and definitely a big motivator. On the other hand, Bama has definitely had more than their fair share of critical injuries the last couple of seasons, and I put a lot of that on the S&C program. It'll be interesting to see who Saban hires to replace him.
Not a true fan if you didn't see this coming....for years.

Apparently no one read the article either.

"Smart, a close friend of Cochran, had previously tried to hire Cochran when he first became the head coach at Georgia in December 2015." TWENTY FIFTEEN !!!

So yeah ALABAMA fans knew this was coming years ago.

I'll be the first to admit that I'm not a true "fan" (ie. "fanatic"); I'll leave that to those with direct ties to the University (like my boys -- both grads). I just claim to be a supporter and a booster -- with the cancelled checks to prove it ;) .

PS -- I realize I wasn't the real target of your post...just playing along.
Roll Tide.

"My advice to you, Doomsayer? Take a deep breath- it may lower your blood pressure, and it may make you realize that the Alabama Football program is going to be fine. The reason? The man who runs the program is named Nick Saban."

He clearly does not speak for the entire fan base but if you breeze through the ALABAMA message boards the sentiment is there. Cochran was a great motivator and excellent Strength and conditioning coach. Obviously one of the top in the SEC. But the sentiment among ALABAMA fans is the parting is with sweet sorrow. While he will be missed its viewed as a opportunity to get some new blood in the strength and conditioning program at ALABAMA. Something that has taken a hit the last season.

Time will tell. And Yes See you on the 50 !

I was in the camp of people questioning the S&C aspect of things with the landslide of injuries over the past several years. Every team has injuries throughout the season but seems like Bama's was twice the amount of other teams. May just be because I follow them more closely than others. I do know other organizations had been trying to get him for quite a while, including Pruitt, Smart, and Kiffin.

All I can say for sure is...if you ever attended games at Bryant Denny Stadium, he was a bit annoying when they would put his yelling on the loudspeakers. 4th quarter "GET ON YOUR FEEEEEEEETTTT and MAKE SOME NOISEEEEEE". lol

I can't believe football is still the main topic of discussion over hear. The schools play other sports ya know. I don't follow basketball at all but do follow ladies softball. That will be my next venture to T town, to take in a softball game or two.
