Got a question...

They are always pushing the boundaries. I remember when everyone got their panties in a wad over in-lines. I was not one of those panty-wadders, and bought an in-line early on, but I have to say, I think "Muzzleloader Season" should be for muzzle-loading rifles, not breech-loading or cartridge guns.

They "get away with it", because the bullet still has to be loaded from the muzzle. Straight wall cartridge argument is just a weird one to me. They are fully loaded cartridge not even considered a primitive weapon at all. I have a cva crossfire, it saves me maybe a couple of seconds on a reload. It is loaded with 777 powder. The big advantage is it is weather proof.

When and if the do the straight wall I will block off my mag and shoot my 300wm as a single shot, they can't come on my property but they can pass stupid laws I will have to stupidly interpret the new regs 😝

I think some of the younger generations fail to recognize the reasons behind muzzleloader and even Archery seasons. They were a chance to extend your season while still allowing a very reasonable sporting chance to the animal so as not to overharvest. It wasn't so you could kill more or even to extend your range, but to allow more time in the field. At one time archery season harvest was so small it didn't even factor into season setting. When advancements come along, for the most part, it is still to the benefit of the animal. Even most modern muzzleloaders are limited in range to under 200 yards. ( I know some redneck yardage comes into play when you say even farther than that). But the science in most advancement is for more ethical kills. I take exception personally against crossbows. They make people tend to do strange things. Not always so don't hate on me. I have hunted with them. I don't like them. So that's that. Hunt your hunt. But to allow modern centerfire cartridges takes away the spirit of the hunting seasons purpose.

Might as well go ahead and make snaring , cage traps & netting legal during bow season too.. 👍👍
I don't agree with it at all. Just the trajectory of what's going on with other states and how our state seems more worried about money then anything else. Just my opinion that it'll be sooner then later

It use to be primitive first that was before they made and air style crossbow that can shoot 100 yards. Then little less primitive muzzleloader which had no rifles barrels at the time even. Then modern gun season. Now it's nearly just a blur and one long season.

Which is why I've often said - only somewhat jokingly - just start deer season October 1, end it December 31, and let hunters choose whatever weapon they want (on private land).
