How do YOU turkey hunt?

I am very situational dependent, I hunt Fort Campbell so I may get an area like TA05 that is full of huge fields and limited hardwoods so I will pack in a popup blind and hunt them almost like deer in areas like that. If I get a more wooded area like TA04 I will run and gun. And I do have red dots on my guns and shoot TSS.

My style of turkey hunting could be best described as a tornado inside of a hurricane. But it fits me and is effective.

Straight bead mouth calls and a speed seat. Maybe an ole boat here and there.

Walk out back door at first light. Camo athetic pants and camo tee shirt. Pee and listen. 5.5 pound 20 gauge. 1 call in my pocket. Walk towards closest bird gobblin. Kill him or run him off. Repeat on next bird that gobbles.

I get cracked up when i see these guys with so much hunting gear on ( vests, pillows hanging gown, backpacks decoys) they look like astronauts trying to walk on moon.

I like it light, quick and simple

I do love my vest always have used one. But it has way more pockets then I need or use.

I've been using Longbeard XR for the last several years in 12ga 3" and 3 1/2" (bought 4 boxes for $20) and 20ga. No decoys, blind or optics on my gun. My way at my farm is I listen a lot and try to move into position on a gobbling bird. Usually I'm at woods edge calling, trying to pull them in as I really don't want spooked birds. When they are using fields I'm in the woods calling them to me there. I don't move when I shoot one so the others walk off confused then I hightail it out of there. I'm gonna try to kill. The very comfortable folding turkey hunting chairs are integral to my success. I sit still for long periods which those chairs help.

If I could walk out my back door I wouldn't need a backpack either.

me too! but...i wear a vest even if most pockets are empty. i carried a bird for a couple of miles over my shoulder (once!) and by the time i got to my jeep, i was wishing i had missed the hateful creature....
You haven't turkey hunted until you tote bird a long ways with him pecking the back of your leg and making a bloody mess.
Vest or a backpack sure does solve many of those issues.
