How fast does your bow shoot?

Mathews monster,29 inch draw, 100 grain head Beaman ICS hunter 400. 327fps thru the chrono. Its three years old and still smokin. I love it.

27.5" draw length

53 pounds

508 grain total arrow weight (including tip and insert)

125 grain broadhead with 100 grain brass insert

150-160 fps - guesstimate

This is what I will be using on my elk hunt in just 7 short weeks.

PSE XS, PSE X weave arrows 300gr, 100gr practice tips, 70lbs, 29"draw, 311fps, total arrow 407gr.

I have no idea and don't care.

Then why answer?

Because speed is over-rated. Like Radar says, speed sells bows.
Speed sales bows for a reason! It takes a lot of the yardage guessing out!!!!
Speed is great but I think what they mean is don't sacrifice accuracy for extra poundage and speed!!!. Keep it comfortable and keep good form and if the speed is there , well that's just a bonus!!!

true that, now days half the 60lb bows are faster then the 70lb anyways because they can still manage to stabilize the really light arrows... pretty cool if your shoulders are damaged or worn out from age... sure mine will be soon enough

I have some fast and slower bows , but I have never shot an arrow trough a chrono to check the speed . I have always based my bow preference on how well they shoot in my hands .

My arrows move fast enough to zip thru deer at 63 yards :) I would much rather have a moderate speed bow that was very quiet and smooth on the draw rather than a speed now that's loud and rough drawing.
