It will if he thinks he's going to use it to tilt the scope, so his objective isn't hitting.

The rings will do more for clearance than a 20 moa base. He'll have to go with mediums at the minimum, and possibly highs. But it will absolutely work with a 20 moa base.

OK guys, I think we have jointly worked this one out. I do not need taller rings, and the regular 41000 base should solve the issue of match up, and allow room to set eye relief. I just hope this things shoots good enough, when everything is finished, to make the grade. I've never shot a large caliber bolt action rifle at an animal in my life. A friend who hunted with me last year, made me an exceptional deal on the rifle as a thank you, and I bought the scope from a TNDeer member, after another friend bragged about how his was so great in low light. I am not known for setting out there until I can't see anyway, so this is really just going to be another cool toy! Thanks to all who responded.

Can't you take one or both of the bases off and spin them around to get a good spot on the scope? the slot is offset to be able to accommodate most scopes by doing that.
Spinning those bases will set them further apart
